Just saw the movie, too. And yes, that is a very powerful moment. Interesting how almost the same words were later said by an American mother. My heart is aching right now for all the mothers, American and Iraqi, who have lost children due to this unjust war.

I went to both of Prince's Dallas shows and he's almost as naughty as he ever was. He's replaced his overtly explicit material with innuendo laden songs and he's better for it. He's the sexiest JW alive.
He did and said and sang a lot of things that would have average Joe publisher in the back room within minutes. I'd love to see a R&F JW show up at the meeting wearing an electric blue suit with matching stiletto heeled boots, shirt unbuttoned to reveal a square of chest hair, huge medallion hanging to the waist and diamond earrings.

I wish I hadn't been driving so I could've written down the lyrics, but the title pretty much tells the story. She's a witness by day and a stripper by night. Her dad comes to the show but since he's not wearing his glasses, he can't tell it's his daughter and he cheers when she gets naked. Here's the chorus:

I rented Dirty Pretty Things because of the title - thought there'd be lots of sex. It's a great movie - despite the dearth of sex. Loved the ending. I like unpredictable plot twists like that, especially since you can usually predict most movies' endings about 30 minutes after they start.

They're great, huh? I went to several of their shows when they were just starting out in Dallas two years ago and it's an amazing experience to see them live. Kinda wish they were still only local, so I could see them more often.
